KEY BENEFITS OF ZINGA...
Safe and easy to use
Zinga is a one pack zinc coating system that can be applied by spraying,
rolling or brushing. It is also available in spray cans. Zinga
is safe because it contains no known carcinogens and is totally
non-toxic in its dry state.
Can protect longer than hot-dip galvanising
Salt-spray tests and experience from the field have shown that Zinga lasts up to 10% longer than HDG in marine or saline environments due to a slower rate of zinc loss. Please see testimonial from
La Direction Departementale de l'Equipement, Service Maritime (France) for field experience or the Fulmer report or the PSB report for lab tests. In industrial or normal atmospheric conditions Zinga lasts as least as long as HDG as can be seen in the report on the Schwenk cement factory in Germany.

Can be applied on site
Zinga can be applied in a workshop but it can also be applied on site.
Metal structures do not have to be dismantled before treatment which would
be necessary with hot-dip galvanising.
Can be used to re-coat existing galvanising
Zinga can be used to re-coat worn hot-dip galvanised or zinc thermal
sprayed surfaces in order to renew the cathodic protection without having
to re-abrasive blast beforehand. New galvanising can also be coated but it will require the surface to be prepared in line with our recommended specification.
Existing layers of Zinga can be re-coated
Existing coatings of Zinga can be directly covered with a new layer regardless
of the age. The old layer will re-liquidise and fuse together to form
one single homogenous Zinga layer (See How Zinga Works…)

Excellent primer in a two coat system
Zinga is an excellent primer when a topcoat is required. This duplex
system will increase the lifetime of the coating by up to 50%. Basically the topcoat has to break down before the zinc in Zinga even starts to be weathered. Zinga
UK's technical department can advise on the creation of any Duplex system.
Good resistance to mechanical abrasion
Zinga's unique organic binder enables a good resistance to mechanical
abrasion as the zinc dust is protected.
Excellent adhesion
The diminutive particles within the Zinga enable very good wetting characteristics and enhanced mechanical
adhesion to the blasted surface. Even when it has been mechanically damaged,
Zinga does not peel off or flake. Please see the BS 3900 report for impact tests.

Extremely flexible
Zinga coated steel can be de-formed or bent without fear of de-lamination.
This also allows the Zinga to expand and contract with the temperature
fluctuations of the substrate. Please see the BS 3900 report for evidence of this.
Can be applied in extreme temperatures
Zinga can be applied in temperatures ranging from +40oC to -15oC but obviously at lower temperatures the drying time is significantly extended. Please see the Zinga Application Data Sheet for guidance on this issue.

Weldable to X-ray quality
Steel that is coated with Zinga up to a d.f.t. of 60 microns can be welded
to X-ray quality without the risk of porosity in the joints. Different forms of welding have different degrees of success but Arc welding with a "bead pull" technique has seen good results. The matt finish of the Zinga should be removed first using a wire brush to prevent interference with the electrical path.
Certified for use with potable water
Zinga has been certified to the strict BS6920(2000) for
use with potable water. Please see the UK reports page for further information.
Certified as non-flammable
Zinga is certified to BS 476 part 6 &7 classifying it as completely non-flammable.
Additional to this, when exposed to extreme heat Zinga produces very low
levels of smoke with corresponding low levels of toxicity. It is because
of this that the MoD in the UK have approved Zinga for use in Submarines. Please see the UK reports page for further information.
Unlimited shelf-life and unlimited pot-life
The unique organic binder used in Zinga enables it to have an unlimited
shelf-life. Additionally Zinga has an unlimited pot-life which means that
unfinished pots can be re-sealed and stored for use at a later date.
